Rebooting modul0
The first version of this site was a fake terminal I hand-wrote in vanilla JavaScript over a couple of weekends. It was fun to build, but fairly miserable to use if you just wanted to know what I’d worked on.
This version is a site that’s pretty, represents my (current) visual language, with this blog attached. My old terminal still lives here - ` opens it. Type eggs and see if you can find them all ;) The site also obeys Vim keybinds and some others - press ? to see them all. No I will not be adding emacs.
Why a Site?
Honestly, I just wanted a place to talk about my work that felt like myself. Instagram felt too angled outward, LinkedIn was so corporate I think I would’ve started talking to my friends in terms of the top 10 ways to drive engagement or some bullshit, and I had honestly always wanted to make a website. It also just… kinda made sense for a CS student to be able to host a simple single-writer blog, and I had a lot of fun figuring out hosting and storage while trying to keep it (mostly) free. Got there in the end, and learnt about Cloudflare’s D1 along the way which was fun :)
What Next?
Whatever, really. I like writing about music a lot, so expect album reviews and deepdives. Of course, I have to fill this up with my technical endeavours - I tend to spend a considerable time taking stuff other people have made and tweaking them until they look nice on valhalla so I’ll probably share my rice at some point, and also my work with KCL’s Cyber Security Society!
